• During our time working together, I was always impressed with Kevin's knowledge of the sport and ability to connect with each of his athletes. He was the go-to coach when you had any type of question and had the experience and patience to help every other member of the staff. He is an innovator in never accepting the status quo as a place to rest, and a motivator known for getting the best out of his athletes. I retired from swimming and coaching in 2016 after winning two medals at the Rio Olympic Games and being honored as the Minnesota State High School Coach of the Year, and I can say with sincerity that I would not have achieved either of these honors without Kevin's support, mentorship, and coaching. He helped me fall in love with our sport again!

  • We have often thought how fortunate we were to have Coach Kevin and Coach Ben in our daughters' lives. We found them to be among the best of all the coaches and teachers that we have known. In addition to outstanding character, they possess excellent communication skills with both swimmers and parents, and give the same attention to all swimmers, regardless of their rankings. Our daughters both went on to spend several summers as swim coaches and were highly regarded by their own swimmers and families as excellent coaches and role models, which we believe was due in large part to being coached by Kevin and Ben.

  • Coach Ben is a true student of the sport. Off the pool deck, he is a master planner with both short and long-term visions. He constantly strives to employ effective and creative strategies to help athletes reach their goals. On deck, Ben is energetic and completely focused on his swimmers. He embodies the role of educator and knows how to teach vital, competitive skills. Coach Ben also knows how to advance athletes from the novice level to competing at the state level and beyond. I watched my own children not only improve under his guidance, more importantly I watched them develop a lifelong love for the sport of swimming.

  • Kevin and Ben cultivate a team dynamic that is both competitive and positive, ensuring swimmers remain engaged, ambitious, and supportive of their peers. As a parent, witnessing your child revel in the enjoyment of the sport, face challenges, forge friendships with teammates, and develop a passion for swimming under their guidance is a truly amazing experience. These coaches stand out as a rare and invaluable asset not in just competitive swimming, but in all of club sports that I have been a part of.

  • Coach Ben is very passionate about what he does, and has a knack for explaining technical things in a clear way. He interjects great analogies and humor to help the kids understand better and improve. I always have fun and learn a lot when I lifeguard his practices!

  • These coaches truly care about the confidence and happiness of their swimmers, and teach the fundamentals and technique that is necessary for success. Our daughter started swimming for them in the 7th grade, and when she went to high school she was complimented on her strokes over and over again. We are grateful that we chose them to teach her, as she fell in love with the sport and has had great success.

  • I saw firsthand the amazing coaching, positivity, and motivation Ben had on my daughters. He is extremely forward-thinking and team-driven while maintaining care for his swimmers as individuals. He has continued to encourage my children both inside and out of the pool and has had quite the impact as my daughters head into adulthood.

  • Two of our kids trained under Ben for multiple seasons each. Both went on to swim in college but those age group years with Ben were some of their (and our) best years in swimming. His coaching style was was positive and encouraging but at the same time, he challenged the in practices and meets to get the most out of them. Combined with excellent teaching on technique, it yielded consistently faster times, which kept their enthusiasm for the sport high and was a big reason they chose to keep swimming. I couldn't imagine a better experience for them.
